Healthy Tip #4 - Eat 5+ Servings of Veggies Daily

After a Summer Hiatus - lets get back into our Healthy Tips!  

​Some veggies to consider mixing in this season;
  • broccoli
  • cauliflower
  • carrots
  • eggplant
  • cucumber
  • tomato (also a fruit)
  • leafy greens
  • bell peppers
  • mushrooms
  • zucchini
  • summer squash
  • sweet or snow peas
  • parsnips
  • brussel sprouts
  • cabbage (any variety)
  • onion
  • green beans
  • sweet potato
  • butternut squash
  • pumpkin
1 Serving = size of your fist

How to get those veggies in?
  • Raw -  chop any peppers when  you get home from the store -- dip them in hummus or babaganoush. Or make a salad with greens and chopped veggies.
  • Stir Fry -  chop peppers, onions and mushrooms.  Heat a pan to medium and coat with coconut oil or butter. Toss in veggies and cook 5 - 10 minutes.  Optional:  Add spices and protein. 
  • Skewer & Grill -  cube veggies of choice and load on bamboo/metal skewers -- optional add meat. Cook until just browned.
  • Add to a SHAKE - add a handful of leafy greens to your morning shake. There are also great Greens products available if you're really struggling with this habit.  Fresh is BEST!!!
